Company Overview
Zeon, founded in 1950, is one of Japan’s leading producers of synthetic rubbers, specialty resins and electric components. Zeon Chemicals LP, the U.S. unit of Japan’s Zeon Corp., was formed in 1989 when Zeon purchased the BF Goodrich Elastomers Division and incorporated it into its new facility in Pasadena, Texas.
Zeon produces cyclic olefin copolymer, as well as the Zeonex and Zeonor brands. Zeon makes films from Zeonor resin. In 2002, it became the first company to manufacture optical film using the melt extrusion process. At that time, it also began marketing Zeonor Sfilm as a base for retardation film.
