Established in 1987 through the merger of Weatherford Oil Tool Co. and Energy Ventures Inc. (EVI), Weatherford Intl. has developed into one the largest global providers of advanced products and services for practically all operational stages of an oilfield, which include drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention. This diversified oil products and services company has operations in more than 100 countries worldwide and is supported through nearly 1,000 manufacturing, service and distribution offices. Weatherford Intl. earns large percentages of its revenues from oil production systems and drilling services.
Weatherford Intl. maintains a chemical manufacturing and engineering department with primary production facilities in Texas and Pennsylvania. The company supplies high-molecular-weight polymers to create plugs, alter reservoir sweep profiles and also increase the flow of crude oil through pipelines after its production.
