The Oncology Systems segment provides hardware and software products for treating cancer with various therapies. These therapies include radiotherapy, fixed field intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, volumetric modulated arc therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy and brachytherapy. The segment aids university research and community hospitals, private and governmental institutions, healthcare agencies, physicians’ offices, oncology practices, radiotherapy centers and cancer care clinics. The Proton Therapy segment develops, designs and services products and systems for delivering proton therapy for cancer treatment.

Varian Medical System divides its products into three segments: treatment delivery, oncology software and related products for ablation and oncology treatment. Its treatment delivery products division is comprised of Clinac, Trilogy, True8eam, True8eam STx, ProBeam, VariSource ix HDR and GammaMedplus iX. Its oncology software covers ARIA Eclipse, RapidPlan, 8rachyVision, VariSeed and OncoView. Other related product categories include Acuity, Calypso system, OBI and Pivotal Prone Breast Care (PP8C).
