Mitsubishi Electric Corporation develops, manufactures, distributes and sells electrical and electronic equipment worldwide. Mitsubishi Electric Corp. has been providing ozone solutions for water-processing companies in Japan since the 1960s, and the company began selling its ozone generators in 1968.

Over the past 50 years, Mitsubishi Electric has delivered over 1,800 ozone generators, primarily for Japan’s water and sewer industry. Facilities that have introduced ozone generators utilize ozone treatment together with treatments that incorporate active carbon in order to eliminate odors in the water supply and sewage and increase safety.

Mitsubishi Electric’s ozone equipment is suitable for treating water, sewage and pool water; sterilizing food products and containers; treating industrial wastewater; oxidation and cleaning in semiconductor manufacturing; and deodorizing and preventing disease in hospitals. The company’s ozone generators are reported to save energy, as well as space.

Mitsubishi Electric’s ozone generators produce ozone gas using electrical discharge, generating ozone concentrations as high as 240 grams per cubic meter. This is an improvement on Mitsubishi’s previous model, which was capable of generating up to 150 grams per cubic meter of ozone. The unit also weighs 40% less than its predecessor and uses 10% less energy. The generators are available in various sizes and capacities for industrial applications and for municipal government use.
