Company Overview
Founded in 1985, Hologic develops, manufactures, and supplies diagnostics products, medical imaging systems and surgical products focused on women’s health and well being through early detection and treatment. The company operates in four segments: Diagnostics, Breast Health, GYN Surgical and Skeletal Health. The Diagnostics segment caters to the companion diagnostics market. It offers a broad range of diagnostic products, used to aid in the screening and diagnosing of human diseases. The primary Diagnostics products include molecular diagnostic assays, which run on the advanced instrumentation systems (Panther, Panther Fusion and Tigris), ThinPrep cytology system and the Rapid Fetal Fibronectin Test.
Hologic provides diagnostics solutions such as respiratory and fusion assays, genius digital imaging, oncology, cervical health, and sexual health. The company has developed many diagnostic assays, for example ThinPrep, Aptima assays and Aptima STI assays.
